“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you.”

THIRTY YEARS OF “10/40”
In 1989, an evangelist from the Global South coined the phrase “the 10/40 Window” to identify the geographic region with the densest population of unreached and unengaged people groups: those between the 10 and 40 degrees north latitude across North Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. From its most western to eastern points, it includes Senegal and Mauritania and stretches to Japan and Indonesia. More than 88% of the world’s unreached population—which is about half of the world’s population—lives in the 10/40 Window.
They still live in the 10/40 Window.
If someone was born when the 10/40 Window was identified, they would now be old enough to drive, have a college degree, and buy alcohol in America—for the last ten years. It’s been that long. And the Window is still that big.
RUNNING AT A SNAIL’S PACE
The scale of the Window hasn’t changed in thirty years because we have underfunded and under-resourced the work. One in ten laborers goes where no one’s gone before. Half a penny from every dollar given to international Gospel work is invested in the frontier. We spend more money on Halloween costumes for our pets than on making disciples. If obedience to the Great Commission is a “race,” we have been running at a snail’s pace.
SHRINKING THE WINDOW
With men and means, the window will shrink. While part of the broader Body of Jesus striving towards this end, FAI teams are working in a concentrated and coordinated advance through strategic regions across the 10/40 Window. It cannot stay “10/40” forever. “Ten” can become “9,” then “8”—all the way to zero. “Forty” has to shrink to “30,” then “20,” then “10”—then zero. With the right strategy and enough resources, we can finish the task.
And we must. Jesus is worth it, and the unreached deserve it.
“AND THIS GOSPEL OF THE KINGDOM SHALL BE PREACHED IN ALL THE EARTH AS A WITNESS, AND THEN THE END WILL COME.”

“Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, then comes the harvest’? Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest.”
