IF YOU GIVE ELECTRONICALLY:
You may have noticed a recent technical problem with our electronic donations. PayPal suspended our account due to a number of contributions designated for "Iraq," "Mosul," and the like. Their security flagged these transactions as suspicious and prohibited movement of all funds given over the last two weeks. Consequently, we have not been able to receive considerable donations during the peak time of need.
WE HAVE SWITCHED SYSTEMS. We no longer use PayPal, and our new system is up and running at our Donate page. This new system does not allow for automated recurring contributions (which we are working to fix), so there are a few things we need to make you aware of regarding our new setup:
- If you've recently given via PayPal, it may not have gone through. You'll need to confirm within your PayPal account. They may have cancelled your transaction.
- If you have recurring contributions set up within PayPal, you need to cancel them.
- One-time contributions are now possible. Automatically recurring payments will be available in a few days when our new system is functional. Thank you for your patience.
- If you support an FAI personnel through our electronic giving platform, PayPal's suspension has also affected their support income. They will likely send a similar email to their private team to alert you to the change, so you may receive that as well.
Thank you for your patience as we resolve this issue. Obviously, this has been inconvenient timing at best with our involvement in the Mosul Offensive.
